Taking folk music to new psychedelic limits, Good Question has taken an old genre into the 21’st century. The songs on Safety Shackles - their confident new album - feature deftly-woven acoustic and electric guitar patterns, woodwinds, rich cello, rubbery didgeridoo, ghostly banjo, twinkly celeste and glockenspiel. Percussion, too, is invariably creative: skittering snare augmented with occasional machine beats, bells, and even the occasional timpani. Sean Goebel's melodies, too, are quietly complex: they don't always do what you'd expect, and quite often, they lead listeners down strange and fascinating detours. In short, Good Question offers a good helping of what we call “folk psychedelia.” It’s not as strange as it sounds; the music maintains a familiar and friendly sound that fills the ears with good vibrations, cheerful harmonies and joyful rhythms. The spell cast by Good Question's music is a subtle one -- but it's a potent one, too.

Singer/songwriter Sean Goebel, a classically trained composer was struck with the inspiration to create music seriously in 2004. His music has grown and developed through different projects that have taken him on adventures around the world. Sean has amassed a team of talented and creative multi-instrumentalist musicians for the current line-up including: Mike (keyboards and vocal), Tristan (drums), Brian (bass, guitar and vocal) and himself (lead vocal, banjo, programming and guitar).

Good Question has released two studio albums, and a six song EP. The latest release “Safety Shackles” is a contemporary mix of Indy rock, folk, and electronica. "Take A Moment," the album's kick-off cut, is quintessentially Good Question: a gently infectious melody and an elliptical, engrossing acoustic guitar riff, atmospheric high strings and gorgeous cello, strong vocal harmonies, and Goebel's customary philosophical lyrics. He's a deep thinker -- one comfortable speculating about the mysteries of life and death. The album was created to reflect modern society and filled with personal feelings and experience. The feelings of the writer are not just apparent in the lyrics, but reflected in the mood of the songs themselves. From cheerful to melancholy, the album achieves art and feeling.

The band is currently touring extensively to promote their new album. The live show is a multimedia production complete with projector visualizations, sophisticated synchronized lighting, and sampled sounds designed to drag the crowd through an ever changing, ever exciting sensational thrill. Keep an eye on the website for tour dates and information.
